First blog post
Idk I saw a youtube short about starting a blog and figured it seemed fun. It's like a diary but a bunch of random people can read it. How fun! Plus it brings a bit of the old internet back into my life, back in the days when I was 6-8 and would say I was 13 which made me seem so much more mature. This would've been on that old Windows Vista PC that my dad set up for my little sister and me. Not really a family computer; my dad had his own much nicer PC and my mom had her old Windows XP laptop.
I missed the glory days of MySpace and really Facebook too (when I got old enough to use it it had become a place for right-wing boomer memes) but at least I still had browser games and random chatrooms. Kids these days just have social media slop, and I feel bad for them. I wonder what hellish inventions we'll have for the generations after. Will a 7 year old today be nostalgic for the good old days of Instagram slop? Scary thought.
The internet seemed so much more fun back then. It's really a shame that everyone I've ever known in my life, including people I met while living abroad (including my boyfriend) is on Instagram, because I would love to delete that stupid app forever. I at least use revanced to modify my apps to make them better for me. I basically never see ads, and my instagram feed is now chronological and doesn't show the reels button. Sometimes I do click a reel that shows up in my feed and doomscroll anyway, but it's much less often now. I should do that on youtube too, but then I wouldn't have started this blog. Butterfly effect, eh?
It's currently 1:27 AM and I have class tomorrow at 12:30 PM. It takes me about an hour. I could leave later but then I have to take multiple buses and I like just being able to take the one. Especially because I have to go to the other campus for my other class and the timing works, but not well. Then I also have a late lab so I don't get out until 9:30 PM. It's only 4 months that I have this schedule but man is it gonna be a rough 4 months.
My goal is to update this thing daily and use it like a journal, but idk I might get busy and forget. As often as I remember to, then.
7 year olds are gonna be nostalgic for reels...... I know it and I accept it
